Workshop Overview
Here is what the lesson plan of a workshop looks like from beginning
to end:
| |
The Assessments: |
 |
Recently
I've been sending out all the assessments in advance. This has
two benefits
|
 |
1. |
It makes people register in advance. When they pay, they get
their assessments, which they bring completed to the workshop
completed. |
| 2. |
Pending
on the number in the workshop, this can add anywhere from 1
to 1.5 hours to the session processing time. If I don't need
to do them during the session, it obviously leaves more time
for Interpretation and Application. |
| |
The Spiritual Foundation: |
 |
At
some churches I preach in advance to lay the spiritual ground
work and begin the registration process. Being there answers
many questions and increases workshop attendance between 25
and 90 %. If I don't preach in advance, I take the first 15
minutes to give 'some' biblical understanding. |
| |
True Colors®: |
 |
This
assessment is completed at the workshop and all the participants
are broken down into groups according to which of the four temperaments
groups they are in. This launches the Brightening Activity,
a group event that looks at the preferred behaviours of the
four types answering four questions before reporting back to
the entire group. Inevitably, what they have written on their
report sheets is what I have on the overheads and power point.
By the time these two activities are done, including a break,
the first 3-hour session is complete. |
| |
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®: |
 |
This
is also known as the MBTI®. Time is spent clarifying what
the four pairs of the Myers-Briggs mean so people can clearly
understand their "Preferences". Four, two letter
combinations of the MBTI® code are equivalent to each
of the four Temperaments. Because this assessment is more
accurate if clarifies the conclusions of Sessions 1 either
confirming who you are, or identifying adapted behaviour,
which is a major concern in any relationship. This makes up
Session 2.
Plainly
stated,
the accuracy of the MBTI® combined with a simplicity of
True Colors® causes the assessment results to be "simply
accurate." A very detailed look at the big picture.
|
| PLEASE
NOTE: |
 |
Both
of these assessments are used in corporations around the world
for both Team Building and Organizational Development. They
are also part of the process in Career Counselling to help people
determine career choice. They are NOT to be taken lightly; they
are serious tools that take hours of training and qualification
in order to deliver both wisely and ethically. |
| |
Application: |
 |
The
most popular questions I'm asked is, "Murray, what can
I do with this?" The Pastor and myself determine this
in advance pending what the objectives of each event is. As
we dialogue, we determine what the desired outcomes are after
the nine hours and plan and advertise accordingly. Strengthening
Marriages and Families, Communications, Leadership Development,
Church Health and Ministry Gifts are of the most popular.
After the workshop, many have requested help in career development
and employability issues. Both in this session and throughout
the other sessions I help people understand how temperament
development is linked with age, how it causes us to understand
our behaviours, talents, values and core needs, AND how they
relate to others with different traits and characteristics.
Our
Differences Are Gifts, Not Weaknesses

Biblical Overview
| 1. |
Matthew 22: 37 - 39
Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with
all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind,
this is the first and greatest Commandment. And the second is
like it: You shall love your neighbour as yourself." |
 |
| |
| Principle
#1 |
 |
You
MUST Love God, Others and Yourself with all your
Heart, Mind and Soul and all that it implies.
| |
Your
Heart |
The
Figurative centre of your Emotions |
| |
Your
Mind |
The
Figurative centre of your Intellect |
| |
Your
Soul |
The
Seat of Affections, Will, Desire, Emotions,
Mind, Reason, and Understanding; The Inner
Self, the Essence of Life; It is not dissolved
by Death; It is that part of your Inner Being
that uses the Body to React |
| A
Life Concepts Workshop is an in depth study
of Your Heart, Mind & Soul. |
|
|
|
 |
| 2. |
1 John 4:19 -21
We love him, because he first loved us. If a man says I love
God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves
not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom
he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him,
that he who loves God love his brother also. |
 |
| |
| Principle
#2 |
 |
You
can't love God in wholeness unless you love your
brother. You cannot love your brother unless you
love yourself.
|
A
Life Concepts Workshop is an in depth Study
of Yourself.
|
|
|
|
 |
| 3. |
Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that
love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. |
 |
| |
| Principle
#3 |
 |
A
Life Concepts Workshop is an in depth study of how
God equipped you to fulfill that purpose and how
you individually fit into the whole body,as recorded
in Romans 12: 3 forward. |
|
|
 |
| 4. |
Romans 12:3
Philip Translation
"As your spiritual teacher I give this piece of advice
to each one of you. Don't cherish exaggerated ideas of yourself
or your importance, but try to have a sane estimate of you
capabilities by the light of the faith that is given to
you all." |
 |
| |
| Principle
#4 |
 |
A
Self-study, seeing how God made you, is not intended
to create illusions of grandeur but allows you to
have a "sane estimate of your capabilities"

A Life Concepts Workshop is a process that gives
you a sane, objective analysis of your capabilities.

Where the Cross Fits In
|
Loving
God fits in with the Vertical relationship (You to God)
Loving
Your Neighbour fits in with the Horizontal relationship
(You to Others)
|
|
 |
| |
| Principle
#5 |
 |
Your
Vertical Relationship is
Love God!!!
Your Horizontal Relationship is
Love one another!!!

TOGETHER THEY MAKE THE CROSS and
JESUS DIED FOR BOTH RELATIONSHIPS
|

A Unique Ministry
This
Ministry... Is Unique!
This Ministry
Focuses on Relationships
Christianity is entirely based on the understanding of three relationships:
| |
With God - You shall love the Lord your God |
| |
With
People - You shall love your neighbour |
| |
With
Yourself - as thyself |
This
Ministry
Encourages Self Understanding

This
Ministry
Has Purpose
Being the called according to His Purpose (Romans 8:28) raises this
challenge.

You can do what God made you to do (your ministry). |
